City of Dreams

The City of Dreams mission is to help the youth living in San Francisco’s low-income housing communities build brighter futures through mentorship and youth development.

Dena Vongchanh, has been involved in the nonprofit sector for almost a decade — mostly in volunteer leadership positions. And in that time, not only did she witness firsthand the incredible work that nonprofits do, but she developed a passion for engaging the communities around those causes through development and marketing.

In her role, she is responsible for developing and sustaining community engagement and providing youth with mentorship opportunities. “Mentorship is a privilege, and I feel fortunate to work with an organization where employees and volunteers are passionate about helping the youth in the most underserved communities.”

She’s passionate about engaging and building relationships with local community leaders, organizations, and businesses to promote social impact.

Dena’s professional background is in sales and recruiting. She is also a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and sits on both the Marketing and Communications Committee and Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access Committee.
