Congratulations to Cathy Weitenbeck for being honored as April's Rotarian of the Month for District 5150!

The Rotary Club of SF Evening would like to congratulate Cathy Weitenbeck for being honored as Rotarian of the Month for Rotary District 5150. With her beaming smile, Cathy can always be counted on to lend a helping hand. She started her Rotary career in Rotaract in 2010 and has been a member of SF Evening for 7 years. She has served in numerous roles in our club including Club Secretary, Club Program Chair and has served on our Board of Directors.

Cathy enjoys concerts, shows, community talks, hiking, movies, and exploring places near and far. In her spare time, she plays viola with SF Civic Music Community Orchestra. She also volunteers with Engineers Without Borders and Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco. She is passionate about helping others in her community and afield.

In addition to Cathy’s numerous hats in our club, she stepped up in a big way to help us sponsor the Castro Rotary. In the words of President Joe Adkins from the Castro Club: “Cathy was instrumental in helping with the chartering of the world’s first LGTBQ Rotary Club. For the first couple of years, Cathy was right there with the club, attending their meetings, service projects, and most importantly as an advisor. She wore many hats to help get us going, and she did it with masterful know-how, a warm and caring heart, and a wonderfully supportive spirit. The fact that a straight woman from another club gave so much of herself to this community, along with another Rotary club, speaks volumes to her giving nature. In short, she exudes “Service Above Self”.”

Cathy is particularly thoughtful at inviting friends to participate in a wide variety of activities. Cathy is such a giver. She gives her time and kindness to those in need and to Rotary. Congratulations Cathy, you deserve it!

Bravo Cathy! We're so proud of you!
