I am very proud to be this year’s President of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Evening. I’m happy to have this opportunity to grow as a leader and as a person, and I’m also in love with this club. We are truly a progressive, new generation club, and I feel like we can effect positive change within Rotary itself as Rotary continues to change the world.
With membership of women at 18% worldwide, our membership is 50% women and our board is 70% female. Our club was also the sponsor of the first LGBT-focused Rotary Club in the world, The Rotary Club of San Francisco Castro, which is doing amazing work in their community.
I joined SF Evening Rotary to fill a similar need within myself to be a part of the community and effect positive change. As a member, I have become more aware of the amazing impact that Rotary has globally as well. Notably, after 40 years of Rotary’s efforts to eradicate polio, we are “this close” to eradicating polio.
This year, we will be making a concerted effort to expand our reach in the community and worldwide by adding more passionate individuals of all ages and genders.
Thank you for everything you do.
